Simple but flexible
The points system is arranged to encourage strategy and creativity in the placement of national sides in your fantasy team.
A team placed as a goalkeeper only scores points for clean sheets.
A team placed as a defender scores high points for clean sheets, and a smaller amount of points for goals.
A team placed as a midfielder scores an intermediate amount of points for a both clean sheets and goals.
A team placed as an attacker only receives points for goals.
Countries less likely to progress through the finals are awarded more points in each of the positions.
For example, should you have USA (a Pool 2 team) in defence, you will score 6 points for a cleansheet after each of their games, 1.5 points for each goal they score, and lose half a point each time they let the ball into the net.
